1. Who is your Style Icon?
 

Reese Witherspoon—she’s never over done and she’s always age appropriate.

My youngest sister, Sami—she’s not afraid to take risks and she can just put it all together so easily!

2. What is your favorite Socialite Lit. Book?

The YaYa series was great and I LOVELOVELOVE anything Mary Kay Andrews writes!
3.Favorite party theme?

Dr. Seuss! You can go in so many directions—I’m just waiting for the right occasion to break this one out of my arsenal.

4. Go-to Halloween costume

I have been some version of a cat for probably 3/4 of the time :)

5. Extravagance you can't live without.

This one isn’t so much extravagant, but I could save some major $ if I didn’t love McDonald’s Dr. Peppers and didn’t need want one every morning :)

6. Living person you admire.

Three way tie: Mama, middle sister Suzi and baby sister Sami

7. Greatest Fear?

Frogs, toads, whatever you want to call them…I DON’T LIKE ‘EM…KEEP THEM AWAY!

8. Traits you deplore in yourself.

I can’t keep a clean desk at work and I tend to get sidetracked and have four or five things going on at one time.

9. What talent would you most like to have?

I really wish I was able to draw or be artsy. I have lots of ideas, but I lack the skills for execution.

10. What is your greatest achievement?

Graduation from Georgia Southern (in four years like I promised!) with a degree (regional economic development) I can actually use and enjoying the career field I picked.

Fireant Festival Recap

This weekend was the annual Fireant Festival in my little hometown of Ashburn, Georgia!

Last year, the weather was terrible and the FAF was cancelled due to localized flooding and sporadic tornadoes throughout the region. We were blessed by fair weather for the most part, although it took longer than everyone expected to warm up on Saturday. Here are a few pics from the weekend. I was busy and moved from one event to another in rapid succession. We started out with the lip sync contest and fireworks on Friday, to the Fireant 5K run that the Turner County Council on Child Abuse does every year, to the health fair and finally wrapping up the festivities with the Strawberry Cookoff (sponsored by the great folks at Calhoun Produce!) that my mom started when I was only ten! Fireant 500

For the next 48 hours, I will be consumed with the annual Fireant Festival in Ashburn! I was in elementary school when it was started and my family is very involved. It's such a great fun way to celebrate those little pesky ants that swarm our county in the summer time. Nine Years

Today marks the 9th anniversary of when Justin and I started dating. Nine years. That’s a long time.

We were high school sweethearts and he waited to marry me for seven of those years.

He waited patiently for me to graduate high school and shortly after we were engaged with the understanding that I was moving three hours away for college and it would be another four years before we got married.

I’ve stood by his side through the tough transition from firefighter…

  

…to EMT…

 

…and paramedic school …

…and back to firefighter.

  We’ve got two rotten furbabies…

& a love that lasts forever!

Cajun Shrimp

Remember this post about my new found love affair with OPI’s color Cajun Shrimp?

Well, I just found out that Dell has a partnership to create laptops with OPI  colors! Guess what one of those very awesome colors is? Cajun Shrimp! Woo-hoo!

Can we say, “Hello, lover”? I want it! It’s a shame it costs an extra $89 for this luxe laptop decor. I might have save my change to justify the extra expense on my next computer purchase. I have a feeling this one might be worth it!
